The Department of Applied Physics and Materials Science runs two formal seminar series. The Materials Research Lectures (MRL) are held weekly, Wednesdays at 4pm in Spalding 106, and the Applied Physics Seminars are held on Tuesday at 4:00pm in 104 Watson. Graduate students in the options are highly encouraged to attend. First year graduate students in Materials Science are required to enroll in MS 110, the formal course associated with the MRL series. First year graduate students in Applied Physics are required to enroll in APh110, a seminar series held in 104 Watson in which faculty describe their group research areas.
